Hey, I love being a missionary! When you lose connection with worldly things and are only focused on things of eternal worth, you are able to recognize the joy that only comes from the spirit! I'm reminded by Elder Uchtdorf's talk about finding that higher joy like the Wright Brothers' dad only wanted to go higher. I testify there is joy behind all the chaos in the world. And when that joy is your foundation, you can then add everything else that's less important but needs to get done on top. Serving a mission has helped me to find that foundation on lasting joy🙂
I also loved that one talk about protecting the quiet moments or something like that. Make time for and protect sacred moments in your life! Make that prayer in the morning or that nightly scripture study sacred to you.
I just love conference! I'm going to listen to them all again and continue to learn from them.
We had a friend Nancy who we've recently put on-date for baptism and she came to 3 of the sessions of conference and a baptism! And she loved it all! It's super super fun teaching her and seeing how she's changing. She's in a very humble spot but is lighting up as we teach her more and more.
I'm doing really well right now, I'm loving everything I'm learning and how I'm able to really make an impact on the lives of others. It's weird being on a college campus because it makes me think of what I could be doing if I weren't on a mission and then we start teaching someone and I'm just so glad I'm out here.
The Lord knows you and I, and He knows what we need and when we pray and ask for His help it always comes! There is no better feeling than feeling God's love for you. Go look for it😁
