Randy, Sally, Ward Coordination, Rejection, Question Guided Studies, Anti, Interviews

Hey Everyone!

TLDR: Sally's head was healed by priesthood power on the spot, interviews were revelatory, we had a lot of rejection this week, anything anyone says that is anti literally is false and there is a correct answer to it, Randy is super cool and loves the restored gospel! He also gave me 2 pairs of shoes! One of our wards is really kicking it into gear to focus on missionary work! Also I remembered that I need to study with a question in mind.

----

These past few weeks have been pretty crazy! We started the week off with interviews with our new mission leaders. They were each supposed to be 20 minutes long which is way longer than any of our past interviews, but I wasn't complaining because I just love President and Sister Kerr! Change of plans! The interviews for my companion and I ended up being an hour each with President Kerr and Sister Kerr! This was awesome. I just love counseling and learning from these awesome disciples.

The biggest thing I learned from President and Sister Kerr is that as disciples of Jesus Christ and especially as leaders we need to be 100% focused on love! And people are not accountable to us, they are accountable to God! Anyways my companion and I have been trying our best to show our love for the companionships we serve around and really encouraging them instead of pointing out where they are falling short. If someone makes a mistake, most of the time they already know they made it and they don't need you to focus on it.

Sally is elect! We found her a couple weeks ago. Her husband died the week we found her and she is looking for something substantial to lean on. We have taught her about the restored gospel and she loves it all! She had some lingering questions but we were able to answer them with the scriptures. She has been struggling with her health and has had a sore on her head for months that has not gone away. She was planning on going to the doctor to see if it was cancerous the next week. We gave her a blessing for her health in general and she told us a week later that the sore just disappeared! God is Good! The gospel is true!

Randy is incredible! Randy we found just outside his apartment and we asked if we could share a scripture and we ended up talking about the Book of Mormon and the restored gospel. He had some big questions that he has had about our church but ultimately realized that we believe a lot of things that he believes and he wanted to learn more! We talked to him about how to know if it is true about nourishing the seed and seeing if the fruit it produces is good. He told us he was leaving for at least a month but that he wanted us to call him every day to help him nourish the seed! He is incredible!! He also gave me a pair of Nike's and dress shoes! Which is a miracle because I've been needing some new athletic shoes!

God is so good! But we've been getting a lot of rejection recently and I've been really trying to not focus on those experiences but moving on and helping it build my testimony. I've been changing my studies to focus on a question to fill in the gaps in my testimony. I am just loving being a missionary right now!

Transfers!

Well I'm staying in my area in Coeur d'Alene/Hayden and I'm getting a new companion!

It's been a good transfer, and I love my old companion-- he was awesome. He's getting pretty close to the end of his mission so I've been giving him some good advice for when he gets home. My new companion has only been out about 7.5 months so that'll be interesting to see what he's like and what he loves!

What miracles this transfer! We were able to help 2 little girls get baptized and find some good friends and one older lady who just needs direction in her life! I love being a missionary because you get to be quite literally God's servants, you get to know Him pretty well especially through the hard times. But even then, you can find joy!

If there's one thing I've been learning it's always prioritize your studies. Whether you're on a mission or at home. Your relationship with God will only grow as much as you water it. Please protect the private moments of your life and take time to connect with God and humble yourself everyday. When you are humble you can be molded into a new creature in Christ.

God loves you, and I'm learning better how to love all those I come in contact with. It's been crazy noticing the changes in myself as I've learned to devote myself more and more to becoming more Christlike and serving others as Jesus would. And I testify everyday and I testify now to all of you that read this and those who don't. God fights for you. He has power to change your desires, motives, passions, into a purer vessel for the Holy Ghost to dwell in. There is no power greater than God's. And that is held in His church. What's holding you back?

Also I had a gooey-- it's like the biggest ice cream bowl ever!

I love you all!

Baptism and Helping Others

This week has been super crazy and awesome! We got to be part of a baptism of 2 little girls! It was awesome, they wanted to be baptized so bad! We quickly taught them everything they needed to know and they had been to church enough times so we said let's do this!

But! We got new Mission Leaders last Monday! They are so so incredible. They remind me of the grandma and grandpa from Up. They are just full of fun and energy and ready to share the gospel! They have accidentally called my companion and I twice which was hilarious (one was during church).

We invited them to come to the baptism that was tentatively planned for Saturday for those two girls and they said they'd love to! When we finished planning we changed it to Sunday and reinvited them. Saturday we receive a text saying that they will be there in 9 minutes! They must've not read the updated day and had driven 30 minutes already to come! As a missionary you never want to receive a text saying your mission president is 9 minutes away from you when they have no reason to be. So we panicked and called and explained the situation to them and they were like "Whoops! Stay there." So we did and they just stood there and with us and talked for 30 minutes! Everyone, that does not happen unless you are in trouble or are having an interview. But we were just laughing and getting to know them! And they ended up showing up at the baptism the next day too! I love President and Sister Kerr they are so incredible!

This week has been stressful with the new mission leaders, a tough companionship in our zone, and just the overall stress of being a missionary. But it is so good at the same time!

We also met a polygamist who has 63 kids😳

But God is good everyone and life is good in Coeur d'Alene! There are so many people here that need the gospel and our mission was blessed with 111 baptisms this month!! That is something we've never done and we're all super excited!

I'd love to hear from you!
