If there's one thing I've learned on my mission it's that it's a great preparation for life. You will go through hard times but you are able to find so much joy through those hard times.
When you are on a mission you have all the quick band-aid joy fixes taken from you. And yet you have the capacity to feel so much more joy. It's pretty telling what brings true joy. I feel like joy does not come from a comfortable life. Joy comes from growing and progressing. When on a mission you are pretty well encouraged to find joy through Jesus Christ. It's such a good lesson, you can find joy always through an increased focus on Jesus Christ! It's so good to prepare for the rest of life.
I love growing and learning and training myself to put off the natural man. And that happens as I teach and testify of the joy and love that comes from the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
