Good News in Spokane: Doing the Savior's Work

Wow! This is super crazy! This is probably going to be my last email. I finish my mission next week and it's been a crazy experience.

I'm trying to encapsulate all that I've experienced and learned and been through in these two years. I think the biggest thing that I've learned is how important it is to be humble. God is perfect, and He will help us to overcome anything that will happen in our lives. We're going to go through a lot, and on my mission I've experienced just a little bit of that. But I have witnessed the power of Jesus Christ to sustain and support when you really shouldn't be able to keep on going. And that is such a powerful testimony to me.

I know that if I live close to Jesus Christ I will be able to grow and find joy in any circumstance. It's one thing to to know that, and it's another thing to have experienced that. And I think I have experienced a taste of that, but I'm excited to keep on growing, to keep on living close to my Savior. We've had very cool miracles. We've also had some dry weeks. It's been kind of tough. But I know that through thick and thin that I've been doing the Savior's work. I've been helping others to come unto Jesus Christ, to help God with his work of bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. And it's just something about that-- just knowing that you are assisting the Father in his work-- it's so empowering and so special. I think that's one of the biggest things that I will also take away -- that there's no substitute for doing the Lord's work. It will help you to grow, to find joy, to find peace more than anything else in this life.

And that would be my advice to anyone that listens to this--that if you are looking for more purpose, meaning, and just a better life, I would suggest-- testify to you-- that comes from participating in the Lord's work. First, becoming a product of God's work to learn about Jesus Christ, and to change and to be on that path, and then to help others to come along with you. And that will change your life, and it will help you to start to learn Heaven. I'm just excited! I'm excited for you! That is the coolest thing ever. I've seen people make that change on my mission, and seeing that change in others has left me changed.

And I know that my Savior is there, He never leaves. He is there to warn, protect, and support everyone and help everyone to find joy when we grab His hand. I love you all, and I'm excited to see you-- a lot of you. I say all that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
