How's it going everyone? This week has been very crazy, very crazy.
So, probably one of the highlights is this lady named Stacy. She had been taught by missionaries about 3 months ago and she stopped learning from the missionaries right before I got into the area, and so I never really knew her or anything, but my companions always were talking about her. She was just pretty overwhelmed when she stopped meeting with the missionaries, but we get a text in the middle of the week saying-- oh no it was on Friday I'm pretty sure-- saying "Hey, I want to come to church, but I don't know the address or the time, can you please send that to me?" And we're like, "Who is this? This is awesome!" And it was Stacy. And of course, we sent her the information, and we set up a church tour with her Saturday night, or it must have been Friday-- I don't know, somewhere around there-- but we gave her a church tour with a member, and oh my goodness, one of the coolest experiences ever. We give the church tour-- super Spirit filled-- and she is just loving it. We go through the pictures on the wall and just kind of talk about them and tell her the stories, and we get to the First Vision picture and tell her that story, and she's just like, "Wow, that's awesome. That's super cool." And we go across to the other side and there's another First Vision picture and we said, "Oh, there's two, that's funny," and she said, "Well it's a very powerful picture." And she's just totally feeling the Spirit the whole time. It was incredible! And we talked after the tour and said, "Well, we'd love to help you out and just help you learn more and and really connect with God." And we asked her if she had a Book of Mormon and she said, "Yeah, I actually I went out and bought one where I can take notes." So she bought a Book of Mormon by herself! It's crazy! She's so elect. So exciting to be part of it.
But little things like that have been happening lately. We've been really trying to have this focus of blessing as many people as we can. And as we've been doing that, God has just been blessing us with cool people to teach and just different miracles along the way. It is so exciting to be a missionary. I think that's the best way to go about missionary work-- looking for the miracles and seeking for them. It's pretty fun.
We got a Christmas tree this week, which is pretty exciting. We're also preparing for zone conference, this upcoming week. We're we're training on social media and referrals, and how important it is to reach out when you get a referral. We're putting a football clip in there of a team that drops the ball and saying, "Hey, we don't want to drop the ball. We want to be very proactive and on top of it when we are given someone that is interested." Recently we've been seeing that it's not always given the highest priority when a referral is sent to a group of missionaries. So we've been trying to help out with that.
And then we're also preparing for the mission tour. Elder Wada and Elder Casillas are coming and they are going to be with us for three days. We're having three zone conferences, and the whole mission's invited, whether in person or over Zoom, and there's going to be two MLCs (Mission Leadership Conferences)-- he just wants to be a part of it all, and it's so exciting. It is so fun. Also really stressful because we have to prepare the Zoom meetings and everything. It's gonna be exciting though.
Recently I've been a little bit stressed, and I've been trying to handle it the best way that I can. And I've just really been focusing on being still when I'm not working on missionary work-- like after 9 when we head inside and in the morning-- just being still. Really focusing on Jesus Christ, and being grateful, and all these different things. And sometimes I forget in the busyness of missionary work that that's really important. So, as you are, maybe, getting a little bit stressed during the holidays, maybe take some time to be still, and see what happens. I can promise you that you will-- first of all be less stressed-- but also feel a greater connection to God as you, during that time, maybe read some scriptures or a conference talk, just do something to connect with God.
Anyways, thank you so much for listening to this if you did. Have a great week!
